FRANKINCENSE ESSENTIAL OIL

Frankincense Essential Oil is obtained by the the steam distillation of the resin of the Boswellia sacra tree.

Frankincense essential oil is more commonly known as the “King of Oils,” so when in doubt, use Frankincense. Historically, my ancestors, the ancient Egyptians used the resin for everything from perfume to salves for soothing skin, and in biblical times, Frankincense was more valuable than gold. Even today, it’s soothing and beautifying properties are used to rejuvenate skin and reduce the appearance of imperfections.

What do you use Frankincense essential oil for and how?

Frankincense, like many essential oils, has a multitude of uses and is renowned for reducing pain and inflammation by applying it topically (diluted with a carrier oil as needed) and massaging it into aching muscles.

As the "King of Oils", Frankincense essential oil is known to support healthy cellular function, and when inhaled or diffused, it promotes feelings of calm, relaxation, contentment, and overall wellness.  Add it to your diffuser with citrus oils – my favourite combination is Frankincense, Cypress, and Lime – just divine! It also blends well with floral oils like Lavender and Geranium essential oils.

My older children love using it before study or exams as it greatly improves focus and concentration – add one drop under the tongue, rub it on your temples and back of the neck or simply inhale it.

When applied topically, it acts as a skin rejuvenant and hydrant – just apply it to your hands and body by adding it to your moisturizer. It is also great under the eyes before applying moisturizer to help with reducing fine lines. Be careful not to apply it too close to the eyes.

How do you use Frankincense essential oil to enhance emotions?

Frankincense essential oil is known as the “Oil of Truth” as it encourages the user to let go of negative feelings and move towards light and truth. It helps to promote relaxation, balance, and mood.
